Greetings guys!
This is my reflection about our Learning
assessment course.
During the course I understood that
assessment happens every moment and it is a complex process that I as a future
teacher have to develop in the communicative competence context.
This process of assessment involves several
concepts that help their construction as Summative and Formative assessment. Those
are the main types and points in assessment, also these types of assessment
have sub-topics like rubrics, portfolios and concept maps which a base of
Formative assessment and test, the base of Summative assessment.
Every topic in this course was interesting
because I had no idea of what was assessment but by developing each topic now I
have a new view of what my teachers had been evaluating and what they must do
now.
Another thing that I want to comment is
that the most difficult and incomplete experience of this course was and is
developing a test. I thought that develop a test was just to take many topics
of the program and make exercises base on these (I was laughing about this
opinion). Now I know that develop a test is to take into account specifications
for each skill (listening, speaking, reading and writing) by specification I mean
state the content, types of items, timing and the most important what I want to
measure. When my classmate and I were developing our test we started doing the
test instead of test specification.
Group work is a concept that we listen all the
time, in this course most of the time we were working in group and it was a
good experience because everybody collaborate with tasks like create a speaking
activity and develop a test. Sometimes work in group is a mess and in my
opinion it happens because members of a group do not have a responsibility in
charge.
In conclusion this Learning assessment was
completely helpful for me, now I know what I must do with my future students
how I have to teach and assess them whit these new features.
Thank you teacher and classmate to share
this course and experiences with me!
